A shareable pdf version of this call is available here.
The WNAR of the IBS Outstanding Impact Award and Lectureship was established in 2021 to recognize an individual or a team, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, nationality or citizenship, who has made a significant impact on our society through service and/or research in development and application of statistical, mathematical, and data science theory and methods in the biomedical and environmental sciences. For example, awardees may be individuals or teams whose research and/or service in biometrics has made a direct impact on serving underrepresented communities, promoting social justice, addressing environmental issues, or transforming scientific practice, and can comprise either a single contribution of extraordinary merit or an outstanding aggregate of contributions.
Award recipient(s) will be announced at the WNAR Annual Meeting in June of the award year, present at the WNAR/IBS Award Lectureship Session held at the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) later that summer, and receive a plaque and one-year WNAR membership.
The award recipient(s) are responsible for providing a current photograph and contact information. Recipients will also present a lecture at the WNAR/IBS Award Lectureship Session, an invited award session at the JSM sponsored by WNAR. Recipient(s) will be invited by the WNAR Award Committee Chair to serve as a member of the WNAR Award Committee in the future.
The award recipient(s) have a continuing duty to disclose to the WNAR the existence of any fact, situation, or circumstance that could be considered relevant to the WNAR's award decision. Failure to make a disclosure may result in the WNAR withholding, suspending or revoking an honor, in the WNAR's discretion.
